Hi everyone this is my second thread so please be kind. I'm a nikon shooter for stills and i'm thinking about grabbing a GH2 for videos in the very near future, right now i own the nikon trilogy ( 14-24, 24-70, 70-200 / 2.8 ) and i super happy with them.

I have look for panny gh2 and these lenses and have found virtually nothing, can you guys give me some feedback if you have them, and finally i know that i will probably need a mount adapter but with one will be a good option to be able to change aperture ( manually of course ) thanks in advance.

I've used the Novoflex adapter and currently own and really like the Fotodiox Pro Nikon G adapter... knockoff blue aperture ring and all. I've used the Tokina 11-16, Tamron 17-50, Sigma 50-150 and 50-500, and Nikon 17-35, 24-70, and old 80-200.

Whenever I use a large tele lens with the GH2, I'll typically let the camera body hang from the lens and tripod-mount the lens itself (as many stills shooters do), but then, I use a very spartan GH2 setup. If you festoon your GH2 with weightier bits, different arrangements as Bern mention will be necessary.

Nice find McBob.

And it's even less expensive on Amazon.

I don't use Nikkors for motion due to the direction the focus ring rotates, but a good friend does. He had one of the original inexpensive Fotodiox Nikkor>m43 adapters, but it developed slop & he switched to the Novoflex. Eventually he damaged the m43 bayonet on the Novoflex (he's hard on gear), but it seemed too much trouble to ship away for service so just bought another two.

I'm sure he'll try the Fotodiox Pro before dropping any more cash on the Novoflex.

thanks for the quick feedback players, that fotodiox may be the ticket. Now i need to learn with of all the hacks is best ( I know there are so many is like lenses " there's not a perfect one for every situation ) i'll keep in touch.

Now Bern quick question, do you know if there is a good quide that compares all these differents hacks, and indicates why let's say a is better than b for this specific purpose and so on, like i said i know that i'm pushing it, buy i have been reading about all these hacks and is getting a little overwhelming to say the least. Thanks in advance.

I don't.

However I spent a lot of time testing hacks but it ended when Flowmotion was released. Some hacks may be able to squeeze a bit more out of the 24p setting, but none is as versatile with other settings, or especially when used with Panasonic & Olympus lenses, which further tax the system.

I'm a pro so reliability is a huge factor. The only times I had any issue with Flowmotion was when switching from stills to motion. On a rare occasion the recording would fail, but always within a few seconds, & I was always able to carry-on.

That said I no longer use the GH2 as I picked up a pair of GH3(s).

I'm using a cheap Nikon G adapter from eBay. It has some play in it (when you try to focus with the lens, it makes a slight shift left/right). But I added on some blue mounting putty I had and just slapped it around and it tightened it right up :cheesy:
