GH2 AF follow focus/tracking via touchscreen.

That's going to be a real, real, real drag if the GH2 doesn't have any kind of video follow focus. How can anyone do any kind of run & gun shooting whether it be for documentary or home-movie shooting? A touch screen is not the answer. Especially for those like me who just bought a Merlin. or use gimballed stabilization. Try to touch the screen in that situation.

For stabilized work you would either be wide open with a wide DOF or have a remote follow focus and an AC controlling focus.... I also wouldn't ever really completely on AF no matter what. Professional cameras don't have them as a comparison but some people do like to use it.... and for some things it can't be avoided...

+1. It was for ENG like purposes that people requested the sensor crop setting which is great for this purpose and Panasonic put this on the GH2. This in combination with a wide lens and enough light allows you to shoot in hyperfocal range easily. Even with a proper tracking focus you would still be stuck with the annoying focus seeking which is unavoidable because the perfect focus is based on prediction and chips aren't able to predict.
