Anyone seen this combo used? The 18-35 seems to be a pretty versatile little lens.
Any thoughts?

The Sigma 18-35 is a fantastic lens. Very well built and great optical performance that could rival some primes at an amazing price. If you are going to use it on the GH3 via a Speedbooster (make sure it's the nikon version) then I say 'go for it!'. If you are not interested in the speedbooster then just get the Lumix 12-35 2.8
Andrew Reid reports that the Sigma 18-35 + Speedboster Vignettes at lower focal lengths on the GH3 which makes since because the Sigma is made for a APS-C sensor and the Speedboster reduces a Full Frame lens to m4/3 sensor size.
The Speedbooster does not reduce a Full Frame image circle down to m43 as you say. Regardless of the lens mount version used, it reduces by .71.
i have heard that the Sigma 18-35 + Speedbooster does vignette slightly on a GH2 but have heard that it covers the GH3 sensor as it is not a MASS and has a 2x crop factor over the GH2's 1.86. Don't hold me to this though!
i am yet to use the sigma on a GH3 but have used it on Canon APS-C cameras and its a wonderful lens.
I'll have to check out Andrew's site for video but since the Speed booster is designed to take FF glass and reduce to APS-C (going from 1 to 1.5crop) I don't see why going the same crop further from APS-C to M4/3 (1.5 to 2x crop) would vignette. its reducing it by the same amount or is FF glass made with larger margins to the image circle? intersting anyway. I can't wait till the Nikon version is out on mass so we will see more examples on the GH3. This lens with or without the SB hits my fav focal lengths anyway and could replace a few primes I have.

Does anyone know, if this nikon Sigma lens + Metabones would be usable on GH2? Would I have to crop it or would the image cover the whole sensor?
Andrew Reid, on 15 Oct 2013 - 01:49 PM:
I tried it and the image at 18mm is somewhat outside the comfort zone of the APS-C image circle the lens was designed for. Quite murky corners. Either that or something funky is going on with the adapter.
Nice and wide though!
