GH2 + 16mm Tri-X B&W reversal trick

Oh my god, this looks close! The B&W modes on the GH1 were good, but lacked the grain and were a little too polished. Nice find.

just saw the downloaded second mts.. nice.
maybe there's a color option that would come close?
i'm currently looking on ebay, there's some bolex 10mm that would give nice 50mm FOV

Very very nice indeed.

The B&W modes on the GH1 were good, but...

Still are my friend. Amazing how a product can become a thing of the past (at least subconsciously) as soon as an upgraded version is released. 21st century mentality, I see it all the time... :)

what's the price for those lens?

It's expensive, but then it's also rectilinear and insanely wide which is why I figured it was worth the $900 it set me back. Haven't regretted buying it. It's a very nice lens.

Kodak reps leaping off buildings this morning. Hunter, keen to see more 16mm experiments to replicate color reversal 160T as used in 70's NFL films and Buffalo 66 - shot in camera, no CC. Think it is possible? Just the B&W you have done gives me the notion the GH2 crop could get close.

Cool stuff Hunter. It's funny...the characteristics of the grain is unlike anything I can get in post. It looks more natural.

Very very cool stuff. I just picked up a 3.5-10.5mm($20) lens to try this with. Those CCTV lens are never really great but I have not been able to try them with the crop mode yet.

It works well with the GH1 too!

The GH1 also has this function, it's called Digital Zoom.

There's a world of difference between tele-crop and digital zoom, which uses interpolation. Interpolation in my opinion doesn't make anything look more like 16mm, just like crap.
