GH2 GH2 - 1080p @25fps - immininent or otherwise?

When might we expect the GH2 to be able shoot 1080p @ 25fps?

Very difficult to understand exactly how Panasonic thinks and the reasoning behind the product decisions they make!

They seem determined always to have a 5-10% "dissapointment" factor in every product release

>When might we expect the GH2 to be able shoot 1080p @ 25fps?
-I think that we will never have the GH2 25p.

-I think that there is nothing difficult to understand the politics Panasonic. You have to remember that most companies (including Panasonic) is there to make money, not make happy customers (thank God to make money, you might have happy customers). GH2 is not professional camera (by Panasonic), so there must have 25p 25p because no specification for AVCHD. In this way, Panasonic's flagship product protects your AF101.
Of course, no company will tell you that. Sad, but true because such are the laws of the market.

I believe that I read (somewhere) that there was to be a firmware update that would include 25 fps 1080p.

Maybe I dreamed it?

No, you didn't dream it. I recently put this on the long GH hack thread, but here it is again for all PAL people:
I came across a site, EOSHD.com and it was mentioned there. I've copied a portion here:In an interview with EPhotozine Panasonic talk X lenses (as first exclusively revealed by EOSHD last week) and the GH2.
Mr Uetmasu product developer:
A firmware update may be coming for the GH2 to add support for 25p, and additional improvements in video abilities. If there are features you want adding, contact Panasonic and let them know. They are aware of the work the “hackers” are doing and are impressed with their work, but that they (Panasonic) need to test everything / confirm there are no problems before rolling out updates. The GH3 is not due imminently, as the GH2 is still extremely popular, but that there is a high end GF series camera in the works.
Will be interesting to see what the ‘other’ video improvements are! Hopefully AF tracking and 60p.
Uetmasu also says Panasonic’s share of the DSLR market has increased to 30% in Japan whilst the G3 has been a great success in the UK with 65% of the overall mirrorless market, although it will almost certainly drop when the new Sony NEXs come out.
Future X premium lenses will include a fast 12-35mm zoom and a 35-100mm rumoured to have a constant aperture around the F2 mark.

i hope my favorite hacker is on that, sure
ps. i wouldn 't expect anything from panasonic (unless another device to be hacked)

After reading that...I am not holding my breath for 25fps 1080p on a GH2.

Panasonic continues to be a love hate relationship in my life.

I do not consider them to be a corporation that listen to their customers and I suspect they dont care either.

Meantime ..I continue to use the AF102 and the GH2 and a couple of cool little Lumix cameras.

Go figure!
