I have used many of the posted recommended settings to obtain around 50mbps on the MPEG setting and around 32mbps on the AVCHD. However, when I import it into FCP7, it only shows 12-15 mbps for either setting. Is there any way that I can get around this?
I think you're being conservative with your hack settings. Can't speak for for mpeg, but lpowell's 70mbs settings for avchd look stunning and are stable. You should try it.
I have this problem with AVCHD on my GF1 too. I set a high bitrate (or use setting from members on these boards and others) - mjpeg hacks perfectly, the 60mbps 422 720p looks stunning. Unfortunately AVCHD appears to stay the same bitrate, regardless of ptool settings.
