GH13 histogram question

I use the histogram for my video exposures. One thing I've noticed is it will occasionally flash white. I've waded through what passes as the gh1 manual but can't find a clear explanation - any help here?

Thanks in advance.

If it's white, it means the exposure is dead center and correct for the metering mode you're using.

So here is my question as it almost is never white for me, does everyone elses gh13 spike off the chart all the time? Mine is always showing it's clipping a channel but image wise turns out fine. I'm shooting 95% of the time with a 50mm 1.4 and the iso adjustments don't seem to matter. I should have my 14-42's in a bit ( today I hope ) to see if it dos the same in full auto, but I wasn't sure if 4:2:2 color would just cause that.

Are you shooting in creative movie mode? If you're not, then the camera will be automating some part of the exposure chain for you, which might explain why iso adjustments aren't making a difference. Don't quite get the '4:2:2' remark..

I have it set for 4:2:2 color not 4:2:0 (some setting in Ptools) I'm shooting in creative but can't pin down the maual exposure. My guess would be yes it's set on manual as the person I got the camera from used it for filming. It's just always shot off the top

(Sorry crappy iphone pic over exposed) Perhaps I'm using too fast of a lens? If I put it on iso100 and fstop at say 11 it till does it, it just pushes the histogram left or right but doesn't drop the peak levels.

My guess is if set on manual exposure the histograpm would almost never go white., but the peak levels are crazy. I have 2 more gh1's non hacked I'm going to fire up with the kit lens (all I have for them) and point all 3 at the same target and cee what they do. then swap the 50mm fd to the stock gh1's and see if it goes right off the chart.
