GH13 GH1 with low FPN

Hi everyone! First time poster here.

When looking around on this forum it seems most GH13 suffer from fixed pattern noise, something I rarely have on mine.

How does this rate as an FPN-free sensor?

720/50p, 1/50 shutter speed, ISO 1600
Standard Contrast 0, Sharpening -2, Saturation 0, Noise reduction -2
No CC in post, straight out of the camera

Cheers!

Poorly as an FPN free sensor, I'm afraid. You can see the vertical FPN streaks very clearly at around seconds 6, 7 and 8 in the mid to dark green areas (including over the hand).

However, the sensor seems fairly normal in its response, in that the FPN is not always an issue. This is a good thing.

My camera is pretty good overall but has a couple of nasty, persistent vertical streaks that are quite obvious even at 100iso. This is a bad thing.

What are the first four alpha-numerals of your camera's serial number? These will show the country and date of manufacture, an interesting and perhaps useful reference.

Got it! I seem to have more of a chroma banding going on rather then the black streaks I see in some other GH1 clips. Thanks for the observation! I quite happy with the results in most lighting settings, and this only shows up at ISO 1600 anyway. The serial starts with WEOA and it's made in China, so I guess it's an early 2010.

Yes, I would also be happy with this GH1 sensor.

The grim FPN on my camera is preventing me from investing further time and money in digital video. I must try to move on...
