GH1 with iso 3200 clean image.

Read this thread how to acheive this.

Made the room as dark as possible, was hard seeing the camera. Nikkor 50 at 1.4. 100% ungraded, this is raw video from the camera.

Also see my similar GH2 low light test uploaded two days ago. At 1600 the famous color banding was at its height, and if you compare the two videos you'll notice a totally different detail & color scheme on the map with GH1. Colors are maintained at their natural despite 3200 iso.

Let's just say, I don't have any second thoughts about returning GH2 to the camera shop.......... you may wanna try this trick out if you still have a GH1! Just do as it sais in the thread. For maximum sensitivity keep the lens cap on, lock it, remove the cap & shoot.

Now enjoy the possibilities.... :)

Again looks great! So, question again... is this a normal GH1 or does it have the hack already applied to it?

Thanks,

Tony

I know it works on any GH1... .it works on mine....

I was just curious as what state yours was in, since you said it was a 2009 model from China. Basically, that means that it IS hackable. Mine is too new so it's not.

Cheers,

Tony

This looks interesting but the traditionalist in me shudders at the thought of letting the camera pick the ISO... One query tho: you write that you shot clean "iso 3200", and as far as I can tell from the referred thread's instruction, you HAVE to set a AUTO-ISO limit, or the limit will be ISO 400. Now if we accept this, the highest limit for AUTO limit is "iso1600", which would mean you shot at iso 1600, not iso 3200? Or did you set "iso 3200" manually and keep the other settings from emory's instructions???

greetings, ninetto
