G6 is my favorite camera out of those choices. Better dynamic range, less noise, and 1080 60p, focus peaking, wifi, touch sreen that works well. Gh2 is also a great camera, almost as good as g6, but with the hack it makes it incredible to use, with good light it looks beautiful.

one thing i forgot. i need the camera to be able to have live hdmi out for recording. which one has it? gh1 has?found a gh1 for small price but it is a need the hdmi out in recording

I believe the GH2 is the only one with live hdmi out for the cameras listed. So that's your only option if you really needed it.

i have started using the monitor and it seems i can t do without anymore.i can get a gh1 for 80 euro..that is really inviting price, 1/4 of any other oprion available....how does perform a hacked gh1? record 1920x1080 at 24fps?

I was the same way about using an exterior monitor until I bought the g6, it has wifi which can be used with a tablet for damn near close to real time viewing, almost real time with the exception of like one tenth of a second, and it doesn't distract from the experience. Also you can control the camera with the tablet as well, or with a smart phone. However, I hardly bother with monitoring the g6 with tablet, it has focus peaking, punch -in 5x 10x, so it's really easy to hit focus on that thing. Here's a link to some g6 footage with the rokinon and Canon FD lenses. The gh1 is also a decent camera with the hack, the higher bitrate helped reduce the mud it got in stock mode. But if must have exterior monitoring, go gh2. I usually use the gh2 as my A cam if i'm shooting with both, that way I can have an AC pull focus via HDMI monitor while working tandom with a Dp or operator, and the G6 is my B cam, which is usually on a rig or steadi cam. I use an LCD loupe a lot with the G6 as well, the oled screen is the same one on the gh4 which is much sharper than the gh2 lcd screen, another reason you don't need an external monitor for most situations.

all shot without an exterior monitor on the fly, no follow focus for most with the exception of a few shots.

I agree, I like the g6 much better than the gh3, The g6 uses the same sensor as the gh2 which I love. The gh3 used a Sony sensor. I had the gh3 for a short while then sold it, it looks a bit more videoish than I like. The g6 has peaking in body, so yes, it does work with vintage glass. The Samyang 16mm is a perfect match for the g6, creates a stunning image. However the gh3 is built better, it's more durable. But I have never had any issue with g6 build quality, it's held up fine to shooting everyday for 8 monthes.

can you tell me more about focus peaking, how it works?it keep focus on a selected area while shooting. let's say a face. then if this person move around the camere will keep focus on him?without changing exposure?

The gh3 can output video through hdmi live, it has headphone jack, magnesium body, weather sealed. Focus peaking has little blue dots on the subject when in focus.

Do you guys know what the battery situation is with the G6? I recently bought two GH3s to replace my GH2s (going to sell them) but mainly because of battery life issues. I tape long events and was constantly worrying about battery life on the GH2s. The GH3 battery lasts for hours.
