Can anyone give me an idea on how well the image from this cam holds up to dvd transfer from your experience, I havent had time to test one out yet and my dvd drive on my macbook pro is giving me some problems right now.
How well? That's going to be pretty subjective. Personally I'd say very well - I've been putting GH1 footage through various transcode trials and it seems to survive a surprising amount of mangling and still look good.
Of course the more care you take over the transfer the better, eg two pass encoding rather than one, max bitrate that the DVD will hold timewise, etc etc. But I've just got home from watching some GH1 interior stuff of mine on DVD on a relative's 48" Bravia LCD from about four feet away, and it looked pretty nice I thought. So did they.
