GH13 GH1 Shutter noise...?

How come for a mirrorless camera, does the GH1 have a mechanical noise when taking stills? Is there a way to stop it doing so?

There is no mirror but there is still a shutter which will make a noise. I rarely used my GH1 for stills before I sold it so I can't remember the sound it makes too clearly; it could be possible that they also add a mock-shutter noise like on point & shoots or phone-cameras.

If you take a picture with no lens you will see the mechanical shutter come up and do it's thing.

mirrorless eliminates the optics to the view finder if im not mistaken. so you still need a shutter to take pictures =)
