GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

J&R told me that they would know on Monday when they were getting some in. Right now they have no eta but the dude I talked to was annoyed that crutchfield got some before them. We shall see. Hopefully they don't come back and say September like pan's site is saying.

I don't know about B&H, but I talked Alex at J&R who told me that they have about 100 people on the waiting list but they were expecting a shipment of 200 GH1's. He just had no idea when they were expected to arrive (surprise, surprise!)

Don't know if this helps but if and when J&R gets their cameras. I was initially on order to get the camera for $1400 and additional battery for $59.95.

But I canceled my J&R order because I was fortunate enough to get on the Crutchfield shipment. For those who can wait a little longer you can talk to Oscar at 800-806-1115 ext. 1016 at J&R and see if he'll be able to get you the same discount. I called him like everyday so he knew me pretty well and since he lost out on my sale for those who want a discount when the cameras come in it's worth a shot to save almost a $100 off. (You can reference my sales order 99116079 / Gary San Angel) Hang in there guys!

And for those who are on the J&R wait list, see if you can get the discount that Oscar gave me with your sales rep. They should do it especially with the huge delay.

I've been watching my shipment from virginia to las vegas with enough refreshes to rival those devoted to this thread. Don't have it yet but both cameras are somewhere in town RIGHT NOW!

I had been lurking around for a while, and not placing pre orders anywhere, even tho the money was in the bank for this all along.. I just placed a pre-order at J&R with the semi-rumor they may get a shipment soon ;P
 
So who's got their cameras today from Crutchfield. Mine should be here any minute! I was so happy to cancel the PD order... And saved money too!

I have this setup waiting to be mounted. This was on a G1, so it will fit the GH1.

BTW, the Gh1 arrived......

It's a Tokina 19-35mm from my 35mm film camera. This lens was a 2001/02 full frame. The front part is the Panasonic Anamorphic lens.

PappasArts, I really like your set-up.
My GH1 is supposed to be here by Wed or Thurs. I have 7 Zuiko lens to use with it along with the kit lens.
Mine is also coming from Crutchfield. When I ordered yesterday they still had 38 left but it was not too long and they were out of them. I feel very fortunate. :o)
I had a preorder at Amazon (May 7th) and stopped that. Now today I understand some had been sent out from them also. Timing is everything.
 
Got mine today, 24 hours after ordering. Haven't been able to really use it yet. Gonna take some time to get used to the menu structure.

I'll post this shootout later :grin:

Got my two after a HUGE mess with my home being a business and not existing on ups maps. with my old 1.8 nikon they are so pretty!

So glad you got the camera, especially after all you have been through to get it. Your posts have always been very positive and upbeat since the beginning. I hope it brings you much happiness, and lets your creativity shine, and holds you over at least until the GH2's are released.
Can't wait to get my camera...On pre-order but no date yet.

I was testing it last night in 1080/24. It's so clean, it's crazy. It also kinda reminds of my HVX200, however no noise and a "HELL" of a lot more resolution. Barry Green said its kinda like a Red down-rez to 1080 ( minus out the codec of course ), It most definitely feels that way to me. I can't complain. If I do; I yell at myself " It's $1,500 bucks " Shhhhh!


The MTS is a "pita". I have no concrete process at the moment setup. So I need to get a work flow going. I bought Neoscene and need to load the latest Mac OS to use it. So after that then I will get it figured out.
