Nice! Hmm do place an order with B&H and call and go through the pain of canceling my PanaDirect order? I should probably stop thinking about it and just do it.

There are literally 200 brand spankin new shiney-gleaming GH1's (and I'm not talking grey-market like pgs 60-65 of this thread either), sitting at B&H w/ NO PREORDERS--waiting to be scooped up!!

It was a 5 min. call--bada boom bada BING!!
 
That was fast. I just called in and now its on backorder for BH Photo. I have a preorder in with jr. Hopefully they get their 200 next week.
 
WHAT?!? wow, you gotta be kidding me...sorry guys, I tried to get the word out...If I had the funds I would've bought a couple and tried to help someone out...

JR still says they're getting their 200 for wed. so... and I just cancelled mine, so there's one more possible cam for someone
 
Oh well that means JR WILL get them next week. They weren't kidding though 200 was right number. I'm guessing small retailers like BH and JR will get 200 and Amazon will be a boat loads. Shortage is over.

Yeah, two BH people just said there was nowhere near 200 in stock and one of them didn't even know they had come in yet.

Keep your place in line.

just called B&H and they don't have any in stock. (I wouldn't be surprised if I was the 20th person who just called in the past 30 minutes about it.)
Looks like some people on this forum thinks they're funny providing erroneous information.
However the B&H told me to call back in about a week.

I'm confused now. They didn't get 200 but maybe a few? I was wondering why 200 went out so fast considering this is $1500 camera in recession. It can't be that many of us on this board.

erroneous?? 200 was their shipment, as I was told...I'm just telling you what was told to me...!!

yeah, now they're sold out, so they don't have 200 in stock....they've got none.

They were literally probably "stocked" online for minutes (everybody wants this cam, do you honestly think that the few hundred people in this forum are the only ones who are after this thing???) C'MON!!!!... B/C like a crackhead, I have been peroidically through the day been hitting 4 links on my desktop:

at B&H, Henry's, JR, and Panny Direct.

I just happened to this one time, scroll down to the GH1, and BOOM, it said "IN-Stock"

So simultaneously I called and started filling out an online order, they got to me in about 3 min, and the guy said, they got an order for 200, I asked him 3 TIMES if they actually had them On-Hand, he replied.."sir, I can sell you 10 if you want..."

I digress....


It wasn't errouneaous at all, for the moment it was the truth, and now, we're back to square one.... sorry guys, like I said, I tried.

I think the best course of action in the future is to keep your orders placed for at least a day or two after placing a new one like this. Even BH Photo can be wrong I suppose...

I did see the IN Stock status at BHPhoto.com also...so something happened. Zack, did you check your order status to see if it is really shipping?
