Haha...You're right Paul. It was Henry's. So excited I wasn't thinking! I actually thought I wasn't gonna receive it till mid-week if anything, however, our UPS guy showed up this morning. Couldn't leave it though cus it was a COD for the VAT tax.
 
i just called panasonic and the rep told me mine should be going out today. i asked if it's possible it won't be and she said i'm sure it will be and then i said i love you if it does.
 
I'm probably jinxing it, but I called Panasonic and they said my camera was scheduled to ship out today. I ordered it on June 8th. When I called last week, they said it was scheduled to ship out on the 28th. Perhaps they have more inventory that's allowing them to fill orders faster. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it actually ships today!

dude, thats nothing. there's a guy on these forums that ordered from Panny direct on June 17th, got it on June 19th. panasonic SUCKS.
 
Just spoke with Adorama customer service -

"There's a rumor that we will be receiving the camera on June 28th"

*le sigh*
 
the estimate ship date on the order form means nothing. i ordered on May 27th and it says estimated ship date May 27th. Whatever day you order is the day it will list. Panasonic's ordering system is the worst I have EVER seen.

and yes, i was charged tax too (i'm in Texas).
 
I'd order from Panasonic Direct myself right now, but I guess I'd rather avoid the $146 tax. I could buy 2 batteries with that money.

Wow Orchid, you got it already!!! Here in N.Y. I have yet to receive it. I've lost track of it since it arrived in the U.S. and got through customs. It seems you can't track it after than.

Hey Ken! Actually, UPS attempted to deliver it this morning but I wasn't in yet. He couldn't leave it cus it is a COD. He's supposed to make his way back to the office in a couple hours so I should have it then hopefully. Totally didn't expect it because of the fact that it's coming from Canada. I actually didn't have track of it until this morning because our UPS guy left a note for me.
 
It's interesting you got it down in Texas and my trip should be shorter in N.Y., but nothing yet. Go figure!

I wish there was a way to track it once it crosses the border. I don't even know who took delivery of it once it came into the U.S.!

Edit: Oops, it wasn't you down in Texas. What state are you in Orchid (other than 'excited'!)?

Actually, I'm in California. =) I'll post up here when I receive it. Hope yours arrives soon! I'm sure it will because mine turned up with no notice whatsoever.
 
does anyone know how late the shipping department at Pana stays open till? and what part of the country its in? Anyone know what time the 1-800 # stays open till?

Not sure but I can tell you that my GH1 order from Panasonic Direct didn't ship until 8:00pm eastern time. Mine shipped from Addison, Illinois.

For those looking to see if theirs shipped today, especially if it was shipped with expedited shipping, don't give up until maybe 9pm eastern time. Check your order status on the Panasonic Direct "track order" page and it might update sometime after 8pm tonight.

Does anyone know if the GH1 can be purchased with the California production equipment purcahse tax break? Will Panasonic accept those?

EDIT: Nevermind. Would still be 6.25% tax and a there's also a 15% restock fee if I don't like the camera.
