GH1 Shipping Today! According to Panasonic Sales Rep

I have a panny direct and Henrys preorder. June 4th (shopatron >.<) panny direct and I am third in line @ Henrys says the guy. Going to try and jump on B&H because it's the only way I can get it before a trip I'm going on in like a week...otherwise I can probably wait till second week of august (hopefully henrys will ship by then) before I start gnawing my own gums off in frustration...again.
 
They're supposed to be getting new ones so soon if the guy on the phone would let me place it I would do it...can always cancel.
 
Nearly 8 hours since the last post, and only like 10 posts this whole day...I think we've all given up hope.

Uh, I don't know why they pushed it up. I DO know that B&H have accordingly switched from "Expected in July" to "Back Ordered...we don't know if/when we'll ever have it in stock again."
 
Weird, they told me 3 days....I am still GH1 less but will be sharing any info I get hoping karma will grant me a camera.

I'm worry about my JR order now. If they don't get at least 80-100 cameras I will never get mine. It looks like some of you guys were really lucky on Friday when BH did have a few. There were probably the last batch before Sept. Damn, no GH1 for rest of the year. Freaking unbelievable. Nice going Panasonic.:cry:

I'm on amazon preorder since may 6th, after complaining I got free 1 day shipping, but still no GH1
 
Tempting even me but I'd say wait. $500 will seem like a lot more a month from now when everyone has one.

damn me too. I dunno, knowing I'd get it right away vs not knowing if i'll get it till fall... worth an extra 5 hundred? man.... kind of. man. so... tempted....

Panasonic had this in stores since April in other markets. This is becoming seriously sad and hopeless. I agree, the chatter has dropped off tremendously cause hope is slowly drifting into the abyss!

All me wants, is me camera :-.(............

I've had an order on Amazon since May 6th. The status on my order just changed from "Unknown" to "Shipping Soon"...Could it be that Amazon is expecting their (next?) delivery!?!?

I order a lot of stuff from Amazon, and when the status changes to "shipping soon", it always meant it will go out within the day. But if you opted for the cheap super saver free shipping (which I doubt), I have had orders sit on that status for a few days. I've since signed up for Prime membership, no such problem any more ;)

Regarding Ebay for $2000, if you use Bing.com cashback, you'll get back $160. Have it now for $1840, or wait until who knows when. Totally your call of course if it's worth it to you. If you have to pay sales tax and shipping from whereever you buy from, it'll be >$1600 anyway. So a $200 premium to HAVE IT NOW is not too unreasonable...

I did that when the Canon SX1 first came out. Bought a Japanese model from Ebay for >$700. The Bing.com cashback eased the pain a bit.

Panasonic is smart (or evil) to lock out English menu on the JP models. Let's see when Canon el al follow suit..

I ordered mine May 6th and the status still says "items not yet shipped." I have one day shipping. Hopefully this will change soon.
