GH1 pros and cons for adapted lenses?

If I decide to go with the GH1, what are the pros and cons?

If I understand this correctly, I will lose some travel at both end of the lenses range?

Any other issues?

Do the issues outweigh the supposed fact I can fit quality budget lenses on it?

What lines of older lenses work?

I don't see any cons to using adapted lenses on the GH1 - some of the adapters may not be absolutely precise in terms of registration distance, but it's usually marginal, the biggest issue is that with some lines you either can't get infinity focus, and on others the way it lines up, you can go "past" infinity if you focus on infinity on the lens, but it is usually a very marginal lens turn back that puts it right - the benefits faaaaaaaaaar outweigh any cons.

No reason to think of legacy MF primes as "budget" lenses though - they may be inexpensive now but many of them have fantastic optics and aren't "cheap" lenses, they're just not the latest and greatest - but plenty good, especially for DSLR HD video use.

Canon FDs are my preference. Cheap. Plentiful. Good.

See the thread I just put up in the Still & Motion gallery - all of that was shot with an "ancient" Canon FL mount 55mm f/1.2 that I got for $85. I know people usually go for f/1.4s, but I have to say that if you're doing run and gun and doc style stuff, having that extra half stop can be a big advantage both for low light and creative shot composition, plus it feels like having a Zeiss Ultra Speed lens since you can open up to f/1.2...you know you can handle just about anything. That's a very good feeling.
