GH1 power saving mode - how does it work?

My new GH1 is 4 days old - i'm finding it's one incredible camera. I have a question - the anti dust feature is activated everytime the camera is physically switched on - right? That must be the sound i hear like a thud-thud whenever the camera is switched on.

So what if the camera goes to 'sleep' and i wake it up with the shutter button - i think i still hear a thud-thud still. Does waking up from a sleep/power save bypass the anti-dust feature from being turned on?

If not then the anti dust feature will be activated everytime the camera goes on from an off state and it could lead to increased wear & tear on the mechanism. Anyone knows an answer - Thanks guys.

i think it does it every time you turn it on, not power saver....now that would be excessive. wear and tear doesn't phase me at all. it was designed to do it. I would much rather give it a good work out till the next best thing comes than to nanny it =) then again its such a good camera i don't blame ya.

the thud you hear is the lens priming or whatever it does not the sensor cleaning, I don't hear anything with a manual lens on.
