GH1 panning problem...

I'm using Lpowell's 1080p reliable patch on my GH1 and I use a shutter speed of 50 for a cinematic appearance.

If I pan a subject (usually in AF-S or manual) I have no problem keeping the subject in focus. However, with panning of scenery, street scenes, etc. I can't keep in focus even with slow movement of the pans. Should I increase the shutter, or am I overlooking something else?
Thanks.

No expert here, but I'd guess that what you're shooting is also moving, which changes the equation. Higher shutter speed will help. So will shooting at 60fps in 720p (sh) mode.

...trees, buildings, etc. I'm moving the camera in a slow panning motion and unable to get unblurred footage. I want to shoot in 1080p, and as I said I have been using a shutter of 50.

I've seen other footage shot with this camera at 1080 and their is clear footage when panning slowly.

Thanks for the reply.

Another shot in the dark: are you watching the footage on fcp or ae? Often they cannot keep up with the actual images. If you are, export a clip and check the quality that way, or take a look at a single frame in your footage to see if it actually is blurry. Pretty sure that's the full extent of my expertise! Good luck.
