GH1 PAL or GH1 NTSC

Given the choice which would you choose - a Pal Gh1 or an NTSC Gh1?

I'm shooting in Europe. Principle reason I am interested in the NTSC
is to bypass the 30min recording limit in the Euro Pal model.

I kind of don't get it. You don't want a EU model for the 30min limit, but want a EU model for warranty... Have your cake and eat it too... hmmmm.

The AUS PAL camera sells for ~AUD2200 plus shipping, that's about 1315+ euros
As for HK model, I don't know, I hear that only the Japanese version has the menus only in Japanese.

well you have kind of answered your own question. get a US model if you want no limit recording and warranty.

the only model that doesn't display english/multilanguage menus is the japanese version if I'm not mistaken.

where have you seen them for $2200 in Aus? I'd be interested when they're in stock again.

This is one of them. Web pricing, had to add shipping and shop warranty in another city...
I got mine from a reputable retail shop in one of the largest shopping areas in Melbourne CBD for $2400, with Pana warranty. There was one in the window and another 5 in stock.
Another major retailer - only 50 meters down the road had to order them and were asking 2990. Go figure!

I prefer to decide between the EU model and a US model for warranty reasons.
Naturally, the perfect choice would be a PAL model without the 30min limit.

A yeah Gerry Gibs, they are out of stock as well as camera house and some others in melb too.

Plasmid - Panasonic offers a one year limited international warranty card for items bought outside where you are claiming warranty. So i think the same treatment applies if you buy either a US or pacific asia PAL model in an EU country. So that kinda puzzles me when you say either EU or US model for warranty reasons. I asked the same question directly to pana australia in regards to a singapore or HK pal model and that was their response.
