GH1 or 7D as 2nd Camera for HMC150

My question is has anybody been intercutting between footage from both an HMC150 and either h-DSLR for 2 camera shoots? Imagine using HMC150 for wide shots or for interviews and using the hybrid DSLR for cutaways, close-ups & B-Roll.

I'm wondering if the GH-1 codec would be a close match to the HMC150 not to mention the same workflow in Final Cut. The 7D keeps calling out to me (at least the specs on paper) but the GH-1 seems like it would be more convenient.

Any experience with this or opinions?
 
There are several people doing this - I have been thinking about it myself for some corporate and music video shoots.
 
I have the T1i and just ordered the GH1 as a replacement.

Canon has a few issues that I kept running into...

12min record times
worthless focusing
18-55mm is not really a good video lens, nor picture for that matter...


All things solved with the GH1 - and its way cheaper.

THe codec is the same between the GH1 and the 7D. The only difference is in the amount of bits, but the functionality of the codec is the same.
