GH1 not working. Strap anchor lost.

A friend of mine is having a problem with his GH1. He said the viewfinder doesn't work (garbled image) and that the camera asks to shut it off.

The left hand side of the strap anchor was pulled out from the body causing the inner nut to fall inside the body.

Is the loose nut likely to fry the circuitboard rendering the fix impossible unless he replace the circuitboard?

Are there vendors who specialize in the Lumix GH1 spare part (such as the strap anchor or other internal componenents)?

Do a search, I believe there was a very long post about this a while ago. I can't seem to remember what people did but you should be able to find it.

I ordered one of these to use with my GH1 instead of the regular strap, which is pretty much useless because of this design flaw.

Alternatively, the BlackRapid Fasten-R2 has been available for quite a while, and only $12. I use it with my GH1 "just in case", but I hope I won't need it with my GH2:
