The initial shot seemed 'really soft' to me. Other shots did have some focus problems, but the initial sort of stands out for me.

Also, as before, to get a shallow DoF, with the lens wide or nearly wide open, it seems the image gets too washed out.

Thanks! I wonder if the initial shot seems soft because I had pulled my focus on the TV so the background was a little out of focus there.

I'm trying to remember to use the zoomed in focus assist while shooting, but I think I only used it twice on this shoot.

The washed out shouldn't be a problem with the aperture. I have a fader ND, though I think I was working so quick I didn't adjust properly. Especially in the flashback scene, I should have thrown more light on the front of him and stopped down.
