Hey Guys,

I've been shooting for a year now and have a vimeo clip of my feature film "Dark Disciple"

85% Shot, 30% Rough Edit.

Looking for feedback, to make sure I'm going in the right direction.

Thanks to all.

Some great shots! Really nice. Really good music and sound, but could use a bit of foley when the guy is walking towards the stairs. The 2 'flash cuts' seemed a bit out of place... there was too much time between them & the next sighting of the guy in the stairs.

The text at the end needs some sprucing up to look more pro.

I generally don't like "horror" films, so I avoid them, but I liked your preview. I think it's because the shots have a very clean look and are nicely composed. The shots move the story forward without being overly gimmicky. Hard to describe exactly, but there it is. Looking forward to seeing more!

Nice composition and grading overall. As a trailer piece I would add a narrative from your main characters thoughts or a vo to setup the story. Plus introduce simple text lines to entice the viewer. Perhaps use more foley sound, plus add slightly more staccato and sustained type of score to help build the suspense.

Dude, I like it!! I did feel there was to many establishing shots in the beginning. I would cut it down to two only. One from the distance, then a tighter shot, then cut to the guy standing. You want to grab peoples attention, and it just takes a bit long to do that. But everything else is really nice. I like that jib shot in the beginning. You could even try to mix that in with some of the begenning shots of the empty wharehouse. Like maybe cut between the jib shot, where it lowers, as it's lowering, quick cuts to the int establishing shots. If that makes any sense. lol. Im certainly not trying to tell you how to cut your film, im just throwing out a few ideas to speed up the first minute or so:) Cant wait to see the final film!

Thanks guys for the input. It is very encouraging!

This was just a first draft (no foley, no cc etc.)

Regarding the lens, settings, etc.; I used the stock lens, and a 50mm, smooth, FHD, shutter 50, iso 100-400 and every trick that DVX members taught me over the last two years.
