GH1 lowlight versus Canon vs Nikon D7000

I've tried searching for this info. But sadly most info relating to the GH1 within the last year has been about the GH13 and right now everyone is talking about the GH2. So I have a couple questions pertaining to the unhackable GH1 some of us have.

How does this camera compare in low light to the Nikon D7000 or the Canon 60D/T3i?

What about mud issues, does the higher bitrate of the Canon cameras give better detail in low light and high detail areas compared to the stock GH1?

I've been shooting with the GH1 and I definitely see its codec limitations. Wide shots of the woods break up (mud) and low light shots lose a lot of detail as well.

So assuming a hack for these newer GH1's never come about, am I better off with a Canon or Nikon? I'm NOT interested in buying a used GH1(3) and GH2's are not easily obtainable.

Canikon are better than a gh1 in lowlight. For one you can go to a higher ISO for a cleaner image and when I had a GH1(3) the thing sucked beyond like iso 640-800 and even at low ISOs I had massive FPN when a few stops underexposed. Even if my subject was properly exposed as the exposure fell off the banding could be seen.

I haven't shot side by side with the d7000/60d/gh2/gh1 but I've used all of them and the D7000/60D hold onto colors more accurately in my opinion at the higher ISO values than panny, but the GH2 is no slouch and is far superior to the GH1. And since you're not interested in a gh2 you'll get better lowlight quality from Canikon.
