GH1 ISO preview on lcd?

Regarding ISO, does the GH1 show accurate blacks and highlights on its lcd while recording/playback?

I ask because...
Yesternight (ya that's right) I filmed my first clip at ISO 100 which looked ok on lcd but on my pc both the mts and prores file were too dark to see anything. I viewed and converted the mts file with Toast 10.

Admitedly the filming situation was poor, as it was a low light environment and I was just holding a 50mm f/1.4 FD lens in front of the GH1 sensor (no adapter yet).

I also notice this. Footage is insanely bright on the GH1's LCD.

It could be that the playback software is crushing the dynamic range. Try it in FCP

I've found that the LCD is a very good representation of both what I'm seeing and what gets recorded.

Make sure "Power LCD" is turned OFF in the Setup Menu (the wrench icon). LCD mode should be set to OFF.

How can you expect good image by just holding the lens without mounting it!!!!

I've seen some great images from GH1 through 50mm/1.4 lens.

I've done this myself, and suprisingly was able to get a much better image than I ever would have thought possible. I'm sure nowhere near as good as it will be when the post office finally finds my adapter, but it was watchable footage.

Tell me about it!!!!! I can't wait for my fd adapter to arrive from ciecio7. I want to get a 20mm f/1.7 shipped from Adorama to Canada asap.
