GH3 GH1 How much better is GH3

I have been using a hacked GH1 for a couple of years with great video results but not so great stills results. I also have a Nikon D90 which I use for stills, which is much better.
How much better will the GH3 be for video and stills ...? Will it compare favorably with the D90 for stills ...?

GH3 is good enough to replace my Canon 7d for stills. Destroys the Canon for video. Biggest problem is replacing lenses with m 4/3 options - there aren't the options that Canon and Nikon offer.
 
Richtiger - The Singularity is here :) The GH3 is much better for video than the GH13 and much better for stills than the D90. I am a GH1/GH2/GH3 and Nikon D50 owner. I can say with assurance that it is time to order a GH3 and sell/retire both your GH13 and your D90 bodies when your GH3 arrives - but keep your Nikon glass and adapter. As I'm sure you already know, GH cameras love old Nikon glass.

I've used the Nikon D90, and owned the Nikon D5000, D300, and Canon 7D. Since shooting the GH2 and now GH3, I've never missed the Nikons or Canon.

Good luck with your decision.

Crazy isn't it? I remember how insanely good the Nikon D90 stills ability was. And now, four years later, Panasonic comes along and delivers something that can match it, along with taking excellent video to boot.

If you sit back and think about what we've just lived through, it's both amazing and mind-boggling at the same time!

Yeah, but only to us.

The rest of the world has no idea what is going on, and most of the amateur videographers I bump into are still hoping on the Canon DSLR bandwagon, because they've heard of it.

They already think the 7D has the best stills and video money can buy. Um, yeah... start talking about upsampled resolution and moire, and watch their eyes glaze over.

On that note, I'd like to see some still comparisons from our users here. Haven't had an opportunity to touch a GH3 myself yet!

Thanks everybody for the responses. Just what I was hoping to hear. The GH3 hasn't yet landed in Australia so I'm reading up on all the info.
