gh1 help please important project soon!!!

ok i need to start a video project soon and im trying to hack my gh1 so that the mjpeg mode is hacked but when i load the gh1__135.bin file onto the camera it doesnt show up. the version still says 0.0 i need help!! should i use an sd card reader instead becuase im just plugging it in with the cord and dropping the bin file onto the first folder part.(like right when u open up the gh1 folder to see files) thank you!!!
