GH13 GH1 hack help (please)

Hi all. thanks for helping.
I have a gh1 hacked, the body firmware reads all 0's and lens firmware reads nothing just ----. So i purchases a panasonic lens 14-42 i think, i need the lens firmware update to use this lens, I cannot update the lens firmware on the camera. The body firmware will read but i don't want to remove the hack. i have used multiple sd cards formatted in camera, when the lens firmware is on the card it just doesn't register on the camera, i hit play and nothing and when i got to vers display there is no option to click right to update it. also i am on a mac so i don't think i can re hack it.

It's been a while since I've had my GH1. I'm not sure why it's not updating your lens, but it could very well be something with the hack. Of course first I'd go back and make 100% positive that you've followed the lens update steps correctly. Then, if you're sure, save your modified firmware (hack) settings that you like in Ptools. Then, I would download the latest firmware update from Panasonic and install it and then try to update the lens again. Then, if that works, just reinstall your hacked settings. I installed various hacks on my GH1 and GH2 dozens of times and never had a single problem.
 
It could. What do you mean when you say that you need to do a firmware update on this lens to use this lens? Is it not working at all, or just not working well? What does the camera say the lens firmware version is currently?
