GH1 GH1, GH2 or GH3 can be "hacked" to .....super 16mm format?

As title,
I've a set of some very nice 16mm Cine lenses, I've the adapters... I still have my GH1 (Hacked GH13) and a GH3 available soon.

for example, the GH1 have a sensor of 14mp, that are 4000x3000 pixels, and the sensor measure in millimeter 17.3 x 13mm
The Super 16mm film format measure 12.52 x 7.41mm

Question, it's possible to make a firmware or hack a camera to use just a specific part of the sensor?
like for the example above, if scaled to super 16mm it will correspond to 2898 x 1714 pixels (near a 3K resolution),
and if the processor can't handle this, it can be divided by 1.5 you can have about 1920x1080, using in sequence: 2 pixels ON and one OFF.... like OOXOOXOOXOO......... a disaster.

I'm bla-bla-bla all this without any real knoledge, but curious to listen something about experts or other doable ideas.

The easiest way to go would just be to use ETC mode. That will give you a native 1920x1080 sampling off the sensor, and the image will fit well within the Super16 lens coverage area. You won't get the full benefit of the full field of view that the S16 lens offers, but you also won't have any vignetting or pixel-skipping or any other such complications. And, you don't have to wait for some hack, you can start using it today.

Yes, I forgot the ETC mode, and reading about another member of this forum, here are the measures:
In usual 16:9 video mode, GH2 is 19 mm x 10.7mm (21.81 diagonal)
The Crop factor seems to be 2.6x
Calculated to be about 7.31 x 4.12 (8.39 diagonal)
-VERSUS- (Super 16mm film format measure 12.52 x 7.41mm)
This format can be acceptable for normal to tele lenses, but like you say it will not benefit of the full field of view of S16 format, and for wide lenses like my 9 and 12mm, it's bad to crop this much.
The BM pocket camera have the right sensor, but with 2 panasonics already in my hands, and a lot of 16mm lenses out there, I think this "Hack Idea" can be a good option for a lot of GHx camera owners.

Me thinks you want a hack to do alot more than is feasible, but try the 2x digital zoom feature on your gh1 .
