GH1 GH1/GH2 intercut with 60D - advise please

Folks,
I will be shooting a travel video in a week or so with another shooter who will be using a 60D. I'm using a GH1, and I'm wondering how well these two cams intercut, and what I can expect to have to do to make them match.

Any tips, warnings will be welcome (never had to shoot with anyone else before, so this is quite new to me).

this is how i am doing it,transfer all 60D clips thru mpeg stream to prores 422 do the same for gh2 when you log and transfer in the preferences, then you are ready to rock n roll

But stick with the hacked GH1 for wide shots. Use the combination of 60D + GH1 for medium/close-ups. I know you're talking about post, but might as well throw it out there. Killer combination

Sorry, cant follow - why GH1 for wide, and 60D for medium/closeup? Anything I should know?

Actually I was planning to use the 60D for crane shots, mostly because the GH1 has no video out (while recording)...

Also, my main concern is whether the two have drastically different "looks" that I may have to deal with in post, such as one cam being softer, etc.

As mentioned earlier, never had a chance to shoot alongside a 60D, so have no idea of what its video is like except for those overexposed, out-of-focus soft shots that many wedding shooters over here seem to like.

Set both picture styles to standard
It's very difficult to colour match these cameras together even with correct white balance.
What I find works for me is using colorista in post to match the colours

I routinely use both cameras on jobs and have never had a problem cutting between them. Expect to do a little colour correction between the two cameras, but nothing major. I use smooth on the GH and neutral on the canon as colour profiles

I think he's referring to to the fact that the compression in the GH1 may be better because of the Moiré, Aliasing, and Rolling Shutter on the 60D and Canon cameras. I think the Panasonic's handle this stuff better, so in a wide shot where you may have alot of patterns you'll probably be less likely to have Aliasing with the GH1 over the 60D. Just a guess.

Yeah that's what I meant. With the 60D when you're shooting with longer lenses and want to compress the background, the shallow DOF you can achieve is absolutely gorgeous. For shots where you want to shoot with a more closed down aperture to capture more details and sharpness use the GH1.

Your biggest issue is will be either softing up the GH footage or sharpening the 60D to get the footage to look pretty close. My A cam is a GH2 and B the 60D and after few months of shooting with them I've found it makes life easier to start of with a picture profile that will make post a lot easier, which for me was smooth with -2-2-0-1 on GH2 and faithful with contrast turned down one from stock. A major factor will be on your lens choice on your cameras also.
