Goto service.
AC power in GH1 is implemented in such way that it must not be used during update, as you don't have battery backup power.

I the guidance is written that a firmware update can be done only with power, not with battery. Unfortunately, the male left the power supply during the update.

That means, I could not repair this myself?

I think your gonna have to get it into a pana service centre. have you contacted pana yet?

Is it recommended that you use AC for updates? you can argue that to cover it on warranty maybe.

Panasonic is widely knowd for bad AC power implementation that prevents use of batteries. It allow them to save few cents for proper power wiring and protection circuits.

It´s not my day. Somehow I was the fixed opinion that I have to do it with AC power. I hope that it will be not so expansive to repair. I have no warranty because I am using a japanese model in Germany.

In this case it is minimum mainboard replacement.
Plus calibration.
Most probably buying new japanese body will be cheaper :-(

if you have a home insurance see if that will cover it.

I'm surprised it even let you update to begin with? thought they checked that you use only a full battery and nothing else. Pana service will hopefully take care of it as others said. best of luck.

You can use the adapter that comes

wth the GH1, basically a battery shaped unit that goes in the battery compartment that connects to the battery charger via a thin wire, I think this is what he was using and somebody turned the power off!

Moral of the story, always use a full battery.

As others have said may be an idea to try and claim on insurance, accidental damage.
