GH1 Feature Films?

Anyone planning on shooting any features with their GH1? I'm currently looking into this camera for a feature I'm planning for next year. But I'm a little concerned about any action shots at 1080/24p. The film I'll be shooting is a sci-fi with some action and cgi.

Anybody got any feature films in the works you plan on using this camera on? What kind of setup at you looking at?

Yeah, principal starts in 2 weeks but have been compiling some b-roll in the meantime. This forum has been a godsend in providing info on workarounds for the camera's shortcomings. I'm gambling on 1080 but if action sequences prove problematic I'll shoot 720. I couldn't afford anything more than an assortment of FD primes but almost everything seems to be okay so far if nothing underexposed. That's when things can go to sh*t. Doing double sound with the Zoom H4n. Still going to put it through some car mount trials and see how the motion holds up. Post workflow is going to be FCP, Toast 10 and neoscene but I'll get somebody more technically savvy to tweak that workflow. I'm not that bright when it comes to the computer side of things.

Would love to hear others opinions on what they're doing as this is new ground for me.

I would love to see other feature films, as for me I am starting on one next month. I intend to use mostly the fast Zeiss primes I've picked up and the kit lens, all in 720p mode but most likely a set shutter of 1/30. The feature is: explosive rivalry between two female models set in the UK, involving a band photo shoot and a murder on the Blackpool promenade.

I started a no budget feature-length comedy last summer, but the unavailability of a key actor brought it to a halt. I planned to resume this summer, continuing with HDV. But, having got a GH1 in early June, and been suitably impressed while testing it out (speeding up my understanding of the camera from the advice available from this great forum), I decided to start the project anew with the GH1. I have been shooting off and on for a couple of weeks and hope to finish shooting in a few months.

Separate sound shot on a Zoom H2. Using the GH1 in 720p50 mode throughout (just my preference, I was not happy with the occasional lapse in frame-by-frame solidity in 1080p25 mode, even though it looked mostly fine in motion). Support from a shoulder mount, pistol grip and lately a DIY side grip (made from a flash bracket); holding the camera grip itself is not easy because of all the buttons covering this small body. Using all my available SLR lenses, but starting to stay mostly with a Pentax 24mm, Pentax or Carl Zeiss 50mm. Mostly use the kit lens for wide shots (14mm), but I'm not a fan of it now after getting used to manual primes. f2.8 seems to be a practical minimum DoF for most shooting, so ultra fast lenses not really needed. I like the mature look of the images and the "slightly milky" whites compared to video "flat whites" with a camcorder. Shooting in Nostalgic and Smooth film style (with settings mostly turned down), histogram visible to try to attain a good spread of tones and avoid clipping. WB set to 5500 Kelvin, exteriors mostly at ISO 100, try not to go above 400 for interiors.
