GH1 fan needs reliable UK supplier....

Hello to everyone - first post after having lurked + learned a lot from this forum. I've also feasted my eyes on many many nice videos. Kudos to the filmmakers!

I'd like to ask the brits for a couple of *reliable* UK camera shops who
a) sell online
b) are capable of processing export orders (e.g. to Switzerland, i.e. without VAT)
c) sell the body only version (I plan to use my old Nikon lenses) or alternatively body + 20mm

So far I've either run into dubious websites, or have been stonewalled by employees who do not know how to process an export, VAT-less, transaction :-/

Just not sure about the Vat free ... export though ???

Basically because it appears to be the only country (except Japan, correct?) where I can purchase only the body instead of the kit.

These guys have a good price on body only, note if you can get the kit for less than £900 you could sell the lens for min. £400= £500 mind you ebay rates and charges are getting higher so maybe you'll only end up £50 on the deal.

Hehe ... but I am paying import taxes @ 7.6%
Still the whole deal is a lot cheaper than having to buy the regular bundle here in Switzerland @ 1395£ :shocked:

If you want really fast and cheap GH1 I suggest the following:
1) Buy using any US supplier (ones that ship to US only also good).
2) Use this guys - http://www.shipito.com/ , they are very reliable, and you'll have ability to fill customs declaration yourself, so you could write any sum (and thay can also repackage camera to different box for small fee).

This'll save you good money compared to UK or other European suppliers.
And as now you can change camera to PAL and select any interface language, it is not a problem.

But just out of curiosity - since when has the OS been changed to allow both PAL and NTSC to be used? My friend purch'd his last year form the US and had to arrange w/ Panasonic to have it changed. AFAIR they agreed because back then the official promo material was misleading (especially in the case of someone who did not read english sufficiently well).

UK camera won't have PAL and NTSC out of the box. Period.
So, try to download ptool, firmware and read help hints to get some idea that is possible.
And try to value others time.

I do. As I stated before it is very obvious that there IS massive competence and chops over here.
