My friend (is Svart your real name?until panny says so, this should be moved to the rumors thread.
one......meeeeeeeeeeeillion......dollars muuuwa-a-a-a-ahhh
My friend (is Svart your real name?this is not a rumor, there's no anonymous source behind. Even 'cause I'm not used to pay attention to them. Just someone with a real name from day one, that is, me. Since five years ago in these same boards where you are now.
But I understand, I could think the same though, if I hadn't heard it from someone inside Panasonic España.
Moreover, I had ordered 3/4 units, not even one they have now for supply. There's no other information to add, as of today.

Should I feel bad about having ordered a GH1 last month?
the information is coming from inside. GH2 is there. after having talked with a reliable source inside Panasonic España.
Not sure yet when it will be released but the information is coming from inside. GH2 is there. It will be announced no later than September/October. GH1 is discontinued. It is official, at least for meafter having talked with a reliable source inside Panasonic España.
screw the GH2 they need to hurry up with the development of AF100
Indeed. As we both know we had been in touch just a couple of weeks ago trying to figure out how to go ahead with that order. I entered in touch with andorravision.com, an andorran reputable seller who sold the last unit on July 19 from a bunch of 50 units sold out in just a few weeks for €749:Thanks for this info, Emanuel. It'll be interesting to see how Panasonic rolls out the "GH2" compared to when the GH1 was released. They started selling the GH1 in Japan in late April '09 several weeks before it was available in the US and various other countries. I wonder if they'll do a similar roll-out this time, too.
For myself, a "GH2" only has to have some of the improvements (better-quality 1080p, live video & audio out, ability to turn off audio AGC/limiter) that we discussed more than a year ago, and sell for less than $2K US, to be well worth buying:

It'll be a bummer if it doesn't have these capabilities. But then again, the "GH2" won't be the only camera in sea, so to speak.
I might rent an AF-100, but I doubt I'll buy one, but who knows. With both the "GH2" and the AF-100, it depends on what features & performance the final shipping versions offer. The good news is we don't have much longer to wait.![]()

From Panasonic:
"The new GH2 will have an advanced processor that will run at about three times the speed of the current GH1. The imaging chip is the same, as are the optics, and shooting modes, but we are especially happy that the extra speed will be used to run a highly advanced encryption hack detection system preventing anything like the ptools tester13 incident from ever happening again. This is a real breakthrough for us and we're proud to announce it to the marketplace. Hacking our cameras to compete with or blow away our cameras costing upwards of 10 to 20 times as mulch as the GH1 is a big no no and makes us and the people who bought those cameras cry. 17 mbits avchd is the way to go and the wave of the future, as well as overpriced one brand batteries and p2 cards, we're thinking of encrypting standard SD cards as well. Also, we would like to clarify to the public: 'mud' and 'skew' as well as 'jello' are ARTISTIC FEATURES, not errors or problems, and hacking the camera removes these features. We don't want to remove artistic features from our users. Also, we're glad to report that the GH2 will return back to our kooky 24p encased in a pain in the ass 60i wrapper, because hey, removing pulldown is fun, and we don't want our cameras to not be fun!"
