GH1 deinterlace settings??

Shooting on 720p60... dropping into 720p 24p NTSC timeline (resample disabled). I set Field Order to Upper Field First in Project Settings.

Rendered video does not look deinterlaced, I spotted some of those horizontal lines. I rendered out to meGui x264. What am I doing wrong? When I left Field Order option in Project Settings to None (Progressive Scan) it looked better but still didn't look deinterlaced to me (I'm a bit of a newbie so maybe it was right...)

Ayudame!! por favor...

Yes..I was having this issue. I found that if you just hit the match properties folder and select your footage. It will match it up...but I change to none progressive like you said. You can render in 60p wmv in vegas 9a. So you are using a 60p time line.

Yes..it helps alot with the quaility. If you change your preview window to best..and then you can tell. Also you are leaving the deinterlace method to none right? Because you should not try to deinterlace progressive footage.

ah so 720p60 mode is progressive already. I guess this is what I was unclear of. I know the 1080p mode shoots in 1080i, don't know if those files are interlaced or not however.

Well I may have spoken to soon as I am used to my HMC150. 720 60p is the only option at that frame rate. Check your manual of your camera and make sure you are actually shooting progressive. If not I always found the interpole the best method.

Note: your first post says "p"

NTSC: [Full HD] 1920 x 1080, 60i (sensor output is 24fps)(FHD: 17Mbps) [HD] 1280 x 720, 60p (SH: 17Mbps, H: 13Mbps, L: 9Mbps)

here is your specs..so yes you are shooting progressive

hmm thanks. i'll try this again with the right settings and see if i notice any of that interlacing stuff.

You would never set the field order to anything but progressive; setting "upper field first" will most likely ADD interlacing.

In any case, what others have said is correct -- 720 is progressive; there is no interlacing in the footage. You do not want to try to deinterlace any kind of progressive footage.

Are you trying to export as 24p? Why did you choose the NTSC 24p timeline setting?

so 60p to 24p (slow mo) , use none (progressive scan), project properties 59.940 (Double NTSC),deinterlace methode (None) ..did i get the correct settings?

No, if you want 60p to 24p slo-mo, then you want to work on a 23.976 timeline, progressive. You slow the 60p to 40%, and then right-click on it and select "disable resample."

Yep exporting 24p. I disabled resampling. Not slowing anything down though.

edit: so 1080p from the GH1 doesn't need deinterlacing? That is presumably all done in the camera then?

With 24p material recorded in a 60 Hz stream, you never deinterlace; you remove pulldown. It's not the same thing.

Haven't used any footage from the GH1, so I don't know what Vegas does with it, in terms of automatic pulldown removal. I'd guess it doesn't, but I don't know that for sure.
