GH1 button freeze

So my GH1 is definitely hackable (serial starts with WE9J).

I downloaded the firmware and Ptool and, after choosing all the options, saved it and loaded it on my SDHC card.

I hit play, and the firmware updated. However, at the very end, it froze up.
I ended up having to take the battery out.

After searching, I found that having Native 24p checked might be screwing it up.
I re-did it in Ptool and loaded it on my SDHC card again.

However, since it's frozen, I can't hit play to make the firmware update again.
Any suggestions?

have you tried formatting the SD card? (from within the camera's menu).

id think this would give you a clean SD card, then you would have to paste the hacked firmware onto it again from your computer.

then pop the SD back into the GH1 and press play... hopefully it will pop the firmware update screen again.
dont press any buttons on the camera when the hack progress bar is progressing, place the camera flat on a desk.

i always charge my battery before i hack, the camera says it requires a fully charged battery when doing any firmware upgrade.

once the hack progress bar has finished and it goes back to the normal shooting screen i turn my camera off, wait a second or 2... turn it on and format the SD card (from within the camera's menu).

hit the menu button and find the version display option and firmware should read ver.0.0, this means the hack has been installed.

hope you get it sorted friend.

The problem was that I couldn't get to the format menu without it freezing.

But I put the SD card in a card reader, formatted it on the computer, and I'm hacked now. :)

My problem now is that MJPEG is still shooting 720p. I must have missed a setting or something.

oooh i see! that must have been very worrying for u, id have been freaked out it i saw that happen.

good to hear you got it sorted and happy hacking!

i've been happy with the AVCHD hacks, not playing about with MJPEG that much... yet

Thanks for the help; I finally got it working.

Now I just need a Class 10 SDHC. My Class 4's are getting tons of write errors.
