GH1 body only for £249.99 in the UK - Harrison Cameras

Scam or not ?
Is it trusted site ?

Harrison Cameras is a respected, family run business in Sheffield, just look around for reviews. This price drop must just be in preparation for the GH2. The only problem is that I'm not entirely sure if their site has live stock control, so for all we know these cameras might have been snapped up at that price already. Surely worth a shot though.

Just wanted to post this here in case any UKers are on the lookout for a GH1:

Of course I have no idea what date these are to check for hackability, so it might be worth a phonecall. If they are hackabale, this is an absolute steal for £249.99.

Thanks *very* much for that.

I just couldn't resist one at that price, hackable or not.

I've had the 'checkout complete' email - so hopefully the cam will arrive.

Thanks again

I ordered one as well. Silly price - hard to resist, though I did manage to hold out all day :)

I ordered one on Sunday. The order went through, sending me an e-mail saying it was arriving in X number of days. Then today I get an e-mail saying they don't have it anymore.

Not a credit to the store. I think live inventory is pretty much a requirement for this kind of business, especially that they shouldn't process your credit card unless they know they have the product and are going to deliver it.

please let us know if its hackable

Turned up today - late 09 model, hackable.

I'm really surprised, and very grateful to Jim for posting the info.

Speaking to the store, they had 38 delivered from Panasonic on Friday - which just goes to show that there are still quite a few hackable GH1's floating around the system, particularly in Panasonic's own UK warehouse I think.

I understand that Harrison Cameras are going to try and get some more - so, for those who want one, it might be worth letting them know so that they can put you on their 'contact' list if more turn up.

Apparently, they were four times oversubscribed for the 38 they bought in - and were a bit surprised at all the interest.

Thanks again to Jimnastics - I owe you a couple of pints ;)

Hah, what a result!! Congrats mate :)

I was equally surprised when my hackable late '09 GH1 turned up from Currys.co.uk last month (Oct. 10th), especially as it seemed as though I got one of their last ones - it went out of stock straight away and has since been removed from their site. There do still seem to be plenty out there.

Absolutely - I certainly wasn't expecting it to be hackable when I ordered it, but I thought that £249 was a good enough price, even for a v1.34 model

The first of the Harrison cams has appeared on ebay, btw ;) I expect there will be more.

Surprising about Currys - last I heard, they were supplying June + units. Just goes to show how random this is - I daresay that Panasonic have got quite a few more hackable ones stashed away, it just seems to be pot luck when they send a batch out to their dealers.

Anyway, thanks again Mr Jim ;)

Thanks Jim!

Same result for me: 1.2 firmware - what a result for £250! For those that missed out, put yourselves on the mailing list - you never know. They may get some more...

Also, another bump for Mathers of Lancashire - I got the 20mm pancake for less than anywhere else online and it is Panasonic UK stock. Well worth a punt for anyone looking for a GH2 - they seem to be the cheapest online (in the UK at least).
