GH1 GH1 best carry case that doesnt use inbuild body rivets?

Is there a carry case that negates the need to rely on the inbuild GH1 body rivets?

I've had a rivet come off and 2 GH1 camera's plumet to the ground on me whilst around my neck. Both of which Panasonic replaced, but the underlying issue doesn't seem to be getting addressed.

Is there a decent strap or carry case that doesn't use the GH1's inbuilt rivets? If so where can I buy it?

Thanks :)

I have used the Black Rapid "FastenR-2" on all of my GH1/GH2 cams with the straps that came with them. I'm not sure they are still making R-2 but the FastenR-3 looks very similar and actually looks stronger as it is made out of solid block of stainless.

perfect, thanks guys!

I will try the ebay one, and if no good I'll get the Black Rapid "FastenR-2".

WISH I lived in the US, you get such good prices there for everything. $53.95 on that US blackrapid link, wow. The cheapest you can get the same thing in the UK for is $106.41

I have just spent 3 weeks in the US using this strap with my Canon HG21 see here for first instalment http://www.vimeo.com/24599286 and it was great - comfortable to use - did not pull on neck and you can store SD cards in a small pocket as well! Whilst in Australia I have been using it with my GH1 (rather than relying on original lugs).
Cheers

cool! but which strap? give us a link..

My one was fine, no rubber used, no smells it has a nylon strap.
Yes, there's a rubber pad on the mount, and it reek. The smell probably permeated the fabric while it was in its wrap, and it's not going aways. Even after 2 months I can still smell it from 5', outside. You're lucky.
