GH1 at Sundance!

I am very excited to say that a film I worked on over 8 months ago was accepted into Sundance so I will be heading out to Utah in January and bring my trusty GH1.3 hacks with me. I can't say anything about the film until after Dec 6th, but if anyone's going to Sundance, or if anyone wants me to get specific footage or anything.. let me know!

Oddly enough - I didn't shoot or act in this one, it was one of the last projects I did sound mixing on before throwing in the towel on that very under appreciated world.

But WOOT.. now I get to say "Sundance nominated film & studio"

:thumbup::thumbsup::costumed-smiley-047:grin:

Congratulations. I'm sure you'll have fun.

I went with a movie to a large European film festival last year. Coincidently, I too worked on the sound for that one.

Don't know how formal Sundance is, but if I learnt one thing from my experience, it was DON'T FORGET THE TUX, even if your movie is not being featured.

Thx. It's only a short, and I should be able to tell you the title after Dec 6th... but I plan to enter films into Sundance next year so this was really perfect for me to get the feel and vibe. I'm very excited.

sundance tries to inform all accepted filmmakers by thanksgiving. if you haven't heard by then, you're not in.

Oh snap.. that was a cold chill as I read that.... but I got the word from the Free Mason Illuminati Lizards that we're in... right around thanksgiving.. so maybe you're right! Again... my fingers are still crossed till it's official official.

Suck. Guess I'll start drinking heavily then.

Don't feel bad man... what .. 200 films make it in from 20,000+ entries every year? Again I'm not even in it for what I WANT to be in it for, I did sound, and no one gives a crap about sound... but hell if it gets me in it gets me in...you're not going to hear me complaining! But just keep on keeping on.

In the words of Booger from "Better off Dead"
"Buck up little camper, we'll beat that slope together. "

This will cheer you up:

That's a good question. I just tried to find out but it doesn't say it on the listing yet. I am assuming it's under 20 minutes because it's a short.. maybe even under 15...

Now since no one knows of my secret life here on DVXUSER I am going to whisper something that I will deny and then delete....

...

I really don't remember it being very good during shooting. I am drastically surprised about all this because the shoot was plagued with issues and problems... with uneven acting and missing big chunks ... a plot line that wasn't the most together that had to be re-shot later.. which is always a nightmare... more so than most shoots.. all shoots run into something here and there... but oh god I could tell you things... but I can't.... Now ALL the actors and crew were really very sweet and cool and great, but I just remember not being too thrilled by it and things being all over the place.... but let me not jinx it and just be happy to go to Sundance....maybe some magic happened in the editing room. All Hail the Thrice Great Okapi! Praise be to the Gods of The Holy Book of Stink! I'm just saying that the world is crazy.. things you think for sure are gonna happen sometimes don't and things you weren't even considering get you to places in the most unexpected of ways.

this message will self destruct in 20 minutes....

Also.. they screwed up my name in the credits and imdb, so if you are running around being sneaky trying to figure out what film it is... give up.. you won't.. that is being fixed hopefully as we speak...again I really hope some magic editing happened or maybe I was just overtired and cranky at the time... it was a while ago...

This film where I acted in (with a method acting beer gut I picked up on purpose for the role) won best feature at 2009 Delray Beach Film Festival
