Hello everyone, I wanted to briefly introduce myself.

My name is Andrew and I was previously a observer of these forums for some time in the past. I run a small business that provides post production services etc.

I had moved away from the video aspect about 2 years ago for various reasons (another story). I have been waiting and watching new cameras as well as new technologies/trends for some time.

Long story short, I purchased a HVX200a a few months back for some projects and now have added the GH1 to my collection. My camera arrived today (although I can't play with it until tomorrow morning). I got it from B&H for a decent deal (applied some coupons) and it arrived promptly. First thing I'm going to do is read the entire manual (as I am doing so tonight).

I look forward to contributing to the community here and getting some good feedback/critique.

- Cheers

[to digress somewhat with a slightly humorous story; the UPS man came to deliver my camera this morning. By the time I make it to the door, he is already walking back to his truck. I try to open my door and something with the knob breaks inside and I can't open it. Here I am trapped inside my house with my camera swiftly departing. Thinking quickly and wasting no further time on the door, I sprint through my garage, out the through the driveway and there I am chasing the UPS truck down the street. I was able to get the camera after all.]

Hahaa.. very funny .....Consider yourself addicted to Gh13 ..... an ever growing community.

Yup. After the T2i came out, I expected the GH1 to fade slowly away, but the hack brought it right back and beyond. Still haven't experienced the wonderfulness, known as the GH13 though. Waiting to get new SD card.

Also congrats on the purchase. Money well spent.
Funny story too.

I hacked the GH1 today and started working with some increased AVCHD bitrates. (the hack was very easy and not complicated in anyway, just follow the directions)

Got 24p Native engaged and haven't had any card issues yet. Using a Patriot Class 10 16gb.

I still need to work over the MJPEG settings. Video I have tested so far with MJPEG was disappointing so I will have to experiment more. I'm still learning the camera and have yet to finish the manual so I am looking forward to pushing this unit to the limit.
