GH1 and AVCHD Pulldown

My original intention was to record in 24p native on my GH1, but there is no reliable patch and my camera kept freezing, so I used LPowell's 40mbps reliable patch with the 24p native unticked.

Any AVCHD that was recorded when the 24p native was ticked is identified as 24fps, but my AVCHD now converted to 29.97fps as I do not have a 24fps timeline in FCE (I am working toward FCP but I am not ready yet.) I know that if I was able to shoot in 24fps native I would be able to do a pulldown removal in JES Deinterlacer.

Since I am working on a 29.97fps timeline and the camera footage was at 24p in a 60i wrapper, my question is: can I still do a pulldown removal, or did I lose that ability when I imported the AVCHD?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Use the PAL setup in FCE... while it's not 24p... it is 25p...

But when I last worked with FCE and AVCHD footage, shot in 24p mode, I recall that I transcoded to Apple Intermediate Codec. I've transitioned to using CS5 Premiere, so I don't do things this way any more.

Thanks very much for the reply. When I brought my AVCHD into FCE it was converted to Apple Intermediate Codec. But what was taken with the GH1 in regular (24p in wrapper) came out as 29.97fps, while the few things that I shot in native 24p came out as 24frp.
