Gh1 1080P Slow-Mot

A while back I asked if you could get slow motion in post out of GH1 footage that was shot in 1080P. I was told that you couldn't.

However, using my Avid program, I applied the fluid motion option to footage that I slowed by 50%. The result was smooth slow motion.

Is there something I'm missing? i.e. maybe it would not playback as smooth in theaters etc. or was the original info I received wrong?

If there isn't any very fast motion, i.e. the difference between 2 frames is not huge, these plugins can give you some very nice results.

Idk who told you couldn't but you certainly can. It's just that your results will vary.

Also, the gh2 has a variable speed 1080 mode where you can shoot at 30fps and the camera conforms it to 24p.

The avid fluid motion does lots of clever interpolation between frames - very render intensive but - like you're seeing - capable of great results

I have been playing with the free slow motion plugin for Virtualdub this weekend. I actually got some half decent results even with fast motion. Best of all it is free and highly configurable.
