GH3 GH-3 settings

I am an experienced videographer and I usually work with Sony cameras. I recently acquired a GH-3 and I am impressed. I would like to try to cut some GH-3 material with some in HDCAM. The Sony cameras have many options available so I will shoot with settings that are best for the GH-3.

You can save me a lot of testing by telling me your experiences. I mostly do legal videos and special events and I shoot with and without supplemental lighting. My market is NTSC.

Thanks

Lots of gh3 owners set the camera up to give as flat an image as possible, and with these settings came complaints about plastic looking skin tones. In my opinion, if you choose either natural or standard as a camera profile and leave the other settings alone (contrast, saturation etc) then you'll end up with a very pleasing image. That's where I'd start anyway...

I have a pair.... Sony EX-1R.

I've never worked with a EX-1R, so I don't want to give you false information. However, my recommendation kind of falls in line with what mr bill was saying. Go with Natural and then tweak settings from there. I've always heard that Natural is the best profile to match with HDCAMs and footage from general news cameras.
