OK- go easy on me boys and girls- this is my first-

you'll see a lot of sensor noise in some of the shots- has anyone found a workaround in post? without too much contrast/crushing the blacks- etc

This is a quick & dirty throwdown of some night footy
-All footage is raw out of the cam ungraded/uneffected, except the first clip which has a gaussian blur- to open with.
-Time-ramped in post
Stock lens and a canon fd 50mm f1.4 on a few various nights of shooting. My aperture was pretty much wide open the whole time but was all over the place w/ shutter speed and ISO, trying to achieve different looks. While shooting the noise/banding wasn't as apparent on the lcd- but in post, it's pretty bad.

Cheers

Looks great. Shame about the banding. The noise doesent look that bad and the banding actually looks good on that final shot of the moon.

Cheers

thanks kainekainekaine-- yeah it varies for sure. The low-light noise in this cam is a tricky one, some situations are easily detected and avoided- but shooting in the pitch black of night with a little lcd screen glaring at you can make it a bit tricky. I was just happy to be able to get some of the shots I did considering the available light.

I love this thing:2vrolijk_08:
