GH 1 Nerd needs help in hacking in Paris, France.

Hi people.

I just moved to Paris, France and want my Japanese interface (NTSC) GH1 to be changed to (PAL) land so much! (Also change the Japanese interface to English if that's possible + higher bitrate!!!)

I'm afraid to hack it cos I'm not a good nerd when it comes to software applications.
By any chance anyone from PARIS can help me hack this?
I have no $$$ to offer... but perhaps friendship and a cup of coffee or beer.
 
Well first - you need to make sure you have a hackable GH1.

Second, the hack is very easy to apply - just follow the guides and tutorials that have been posted here. It takes maybe an hour tops to read through the direction, and 20 minutes to apply the hack. No offense, but that hour and a half that you put to apply the hack, probably better than the time you'll spend here begging someone to do it for free and calling people trolls.

you dont need to be a "nerd" just competent and rational. are you both of these? download the firmware and Ptools, open it, have a look for yourself where the settings are, click and highlight everything to see what happens or pops up, read everything that pops up or changes. took me 10 minutes to figure it out thats how straight forward it is if you are observant.

should suggest a quick paris meet up instead to discuss gh1 rather than hey hack my camera for me =) good luck with it though you shouldn't need it casue it is dead easy.

A) Yes I have a hackable GH1. Mine has a Japanese interface + Japanese menu and I might need someone with an english/french booklet menu to compare what I'm switching on the camera body.

B) You have problems with reading comprehension? I did not call anyone a troll before I called you a moron in my heart.
If you think my other intention (which is) to make photog. friends with fellow GH 1 shooter in Paris is synonymous to begging, then I think you must be a very cool guy with so many cool hang out friends. (You must be Ohh SOoo COOL and exciting that you have SO many friends in your life ... so much so that you don't have spare time to stick your face in front of your god damn computer screen. NO OFFENSE To you to!

eh, theres really nothing to figure out, besides whether you want to shoot with mjpeg or avchd and how high you can make the bitrate go before it crashes. Just use the settings on one of the massive settings threads on here. hell, just learning how to use the camera is alot more difficult then using ptools.
 
lol...i miss read that, thought you meant looking for nerds..ha. but if you are a nerd then it should be all the more easier for ya =)

so have you had a play with ptools yet during this time? buy me a return ticket to paris and I'll help you out. but in all seriousness, just have a quick play with it. you dont have to install it just play with it.
