GH-1 cam-A / Canon Mark 5Dii cam-B

HAHA exactly. This is one of the main features of the cam that I like, the STEALTH FACTOR! you put it perfectly! I shoowed some of my friends the GH-1 and they are like "Why are you switching to a still cam!?" haha (little do they know) ;)

I think the problem is the conversion 30p->24p , it cannot be done with enough quality.

if planning to shoot 30p I would take the 5dmkII , with latest firmware it has manual controls, better image, better low light, better codec and no mud. The 35mm full frame could be an advantage or not.

I'm waiting for he GH1 cause I need 24p, but I'm afraid about the panasonic bug that muds the image sometimes.

Yeah I just hope and pray that they will update GH-1 to have better bit rate, high quality image, and HDMI monitoring while filming! I wouldn't mind spending a couple hundred extra for it. Oh do I hope and pray!!! please panasonic oh pretty please 0=)

Hack to raw is what i'm hoping for. Seems more likely to happen to me i guess, that and a 720p 24 option.

Think about this though. The jury may still be out on shooting dark churches with the stock lens it is F4 after all... You may find that you need to fall back on some fast glass. Which actually bolsters the 5dii argument.

I agree. Try to invest in a couple of decent fast lenses. The GH1 with adapters you're going to have a lot of choices but try to keep up with Kholi's and others threads about watching ISO settings etc. Might save you some problems.
