The GFX card (video card) in my early 2008 Mac Pro appears to have pooped out on me & I'm looking for a replacement. Anyone have something?

not sure if it will work but i've got a pair of Nvidia GTX 275's for sale... feel free to PM or email me (brad.crawford@gmail.com) for more info.

I did some reading last night that I mostly didn't understand & which made my head hurt. Bottom line, does the GTX 275 work in a 3,1 Mac Pro by itself or do I need another card in there to make the computer boot properly/recognize the card?

I know Mac has it's own Nvidia video cards, and the market is very limited, not like a PC. You have to check the card model number and the serial number for compatibility against your Mac pro.

If it was a simple process to make one of your 275's work with my machine I'd be all over it, as it is I still can't figure out exactly what's involved in making one of these work in a mac so I'll have to pass. Thanks for the offer.

Anyone else?
