I'm on a somewhat low budget and shopping for a used compact camera which can produce good video and stills. GF1 or GF2 + 14mm f2.5 are in my range. (and maybe a manual CCTV 25mm)
Between those two I'm leaning towards GF2 - extra controls are not that important to me, as long as I have Av with a dial for stills and native 1080p seems nice (especially with touch screen refocus). I typically re-size the video footage to 720p, but I like to use crops for panning. Most of the time I shoot concerts and gigs in low light situations and sometimes family.
Now with GF13 firmware the choice becomes more complicated - full manual control in video is a very nice feature (though there is a trick with flicker control in GF2), but what about focus tracking and speed? Is it any different between GF2 and GF13? Does it follow the subject correctly in GF13 without hunting? Is upscaled 720p with a high bitrate as good as native 1080p from GF2?
