Hi all,
First time poster so please be gentle. I have searched the forums for this but I can't seem to find what I am after. Admittedly I am am confused in regards to the GH1 v GF1. I currently have a 500D and due to a few issues and concerns (please changed needs) I have decided to move to the M43 format. The GF2 initially caught my attention but the GF1 has jumped ahead because of this hack that is available and the remote shutter port (a feature missing from the GF2).
My question is; I know you have full HD working on the GF1/GH1 but is it possible, or has it been done, to get true 720p60 video? As far as I understand it the GF1 currently doubles the sensors output to achieve the 60p, so using this footage in an attempt to gain 'slow-motion' is next to useless. What I am after is true 60p: every frame is a full frame and different from the one before or after it. I have a feeling this is not possible with the sensor being the limiting factor.
Apologies if this is plain as day. I will keep looking, but I figured I'd post so that I don't waste too much time.
Hope to hear from someone.
Regards,
- Matt.
EDIT: I'm also reading that the hack won't work on cameras manufactured after a certain date...so purchasing one new won't be the best of ideas, as my entire purchase choice is based on this hack working :-(
